Thought not a lessor anymore technically, 9421 maintains its Western Rail lessor look: Previous ownership is clear (decal marks) with the new reporting marks written across. The engine has since been property painted into it's new owner's paint scheme.

Former CN 1339 & 1371, both retired in 2006, are temporarily resting on museum grounds. Last November they were shipped off to Progress Rail in Waycross, GA, I'm surprised they couldn't get a set of SW1200s more locally, off CSX perhaps.
Not sure why air hose is tied around 1371, perhaps...
Not that long ago CP actively served Prince Albert via three lines, East from Shellbrook, West from Nipawin and North from Humboldt. All three involved running rights on CN for the final leg of the trip. Since then both CP & CN pulled out of Prince Albert altogether in 1992 & 1997...

Hard to believe I drove 200km to see this piece of junk. Im being sarcastic/common-sense of-course as I love it! This has to be one of the strangest units in Saskatchewan: M420R(W) ex-Maine Coast originally P&W via NREX, always #2004. The story I hear with these units is that MLW sold them...

After leaving CN in 2000, this unit is back on home turf! CTRW leassed five (???) of them, finally dispelling their ex-CN M420(W)'s to the HBR along with GP30's and other oddballs on roster.
Despite CN retiring and selling these units left and right, they're perfect for a shortline like...
Originally Carlton Trail was powered by ex-CN M420W's and a couple BCOL's (including a B unit!) thrown into the mix. Up to six would be put on a grain train to struggle through the hilly terrain (Northern SK is not like South SK). Today HBR and other shortlines took all the MLW's away, leaving...

There I was, taking pictures of CTRW GP10's, when I happen to look the other way and see this ancient piece. Its in what appears to be a private construction lot (no rail acess), with a very old and beat-up scrapper up front. It's too bad CN #'s are patched out, otherwise we could trace its...
