CN 2515 cuts 5650 out of train 303, and puts her on an Industrial Spur. Why? I don't know.

Good catch. If the unit is bad, it needs to be set-off. 303 doesn't go into the yard, hence this is the next best thing... Otherwise the train would be vice versa and take much more time to put back together. Now how did you loose your scanner?

On the bright side I doubt anyone would steal it. It's a fairly odd tool to the casual person actually. "346 diverging @ Howlitz" - what?
I always get odd looks whenver someone sees the scanner in public. Many think it's some kind of ultra-advanced camera. So I keep it under the coat most of the time.
