Its early morning - crews work hard to replace the switch off the Watrous sub onto the Warman sub (PNL route). As you can see clearly in the photo, the mainline is split. I think they installed an automatic turnout, so that CN 303/314 dont need to bother the yard and take a good half hour away...
CN SD40-2W 5250 and BCOL 4543 pull out of the Riverview siding after meeting counterpart CN 314. After the routine crew change and switch lining, CN 303 will take to the Warman sub. The CN 520, who is waiting on his heels, will then go back to the yards.
The CN 303 has carried many an SD75I latley. SD75I 5650 leads, SD70 1001 trails. Despite the small differnece between the units, it's a pretty nice combination. I planned on seeing the CN 1039, but I don't think it got past Edmonton. As per the norm, CN 303 changed crews, took to the Warman...
Note the odd lettering font decalled on the cab. Some folks like to call this the 'Illinois Centeral fix job'. He is on the CN 303, and in moments he will stop to switch crews and run onto the Warman sub at Chappelle Junction.
The CN 303 has just swapped out crews and is going up the Warman sub. The units 5703 and 2296 can be seen smoking in the distance, while the rest of it's train clears the foreground.
