JR series 500, Tokaido shinkansen

This EMU is JR series 500, manufactured in 1997, top operational speed is 300Km/H (187mph). JR Central and West operates Super express NOZOMI in JR Tokaido and Sanyo shinkansen line bound for Hakata from Tokyo.
You are clearly in a world of science fiction as far as passanger train styling is concerened. Can you say EMD F40PH?

Amtrak engines of 1970's are neat. I feel their power about boxy style.

I saw #212 at Boston south stn. in Oct. 1993. The engine looks like F40PH.

More like science fact. The F40PH may have it's "place", but it's not in the same league with this bad boy.
 
Tekken, you are fortunate to have so many interesting looking locomotives in Japan. I was able to see a few myself during my recent trip to Italy.
