Two Crossings in One

The South City Switcher rumbles across 3rd Street in San Francisco. Not only is it running down a street itself, it's also crossing a diamond on the street running stretch of MUNI's T-Third Street line.

It's interesting that they cross the T line twice! At Cargo Way & Hunters Point Naval Ship yard. What's going on there anyway? From Caltrain the connecting industrial trackage looks impassible, yet satellite imagery shows the facility full of passenger cars, SP SD9s and other goodies. Is there another connecting track to Hunters?

Russian, that is an old satellite image. Those goodies have been moved to Niles Canyon or beyond. The passenger cars are in Portola CA at the moment and will be trucked out of there this spring IIRC.

The tracks to Hunter's Point are now mostly impassable. They used to be accessible via Carroll. Now the tracks just dead-end about a quarter mile or so down the street.
