The Last Rays of Sunlight

A Montana Rail Link train climbs the west slope of Bozeman Pass.
We caught the train in Bozeman and preceded it up the mountain. The weather was not too bad this day. A few days before we were on the Powder River in 50 to 60 MPH winds. I actually had a camera on a tripod blow over. I was able to catch it before it hit the ground. It was so bad we set up using the car as a wind break.

No matter how you try to engineer a photograph everything has still got to come together at the right time and you can't beat being in the right place at the right time, superb lighting and well exposed.

Cheers Steve.

Beautiful. I have had similar good fortune shooting during sunset at West End, MT. It must be something about the alignment of that valley. :-)
