The CN mainline looking west. Autumn rain, winter cold and summer with a train in the distance. Mainline used by CN, BNSF, VIA, CEMR (shortline) and specials like AOE.
I wanted to catch a train on the curve, there was just no traffic. Oh well, maybe next time. Here's what it looks like with trains running:

1976 CN 50474, 40 ton OHIO crane pushed a platform, also pulling another one. Notice a MOW operator on the front. I got to observe this thing lay fresh tracks from the car it pulled, then travel the mainline to rest at the MOW depot. Quite an impresive piece of machinery.
CN & ONR have a power sharing agreement, whereby CN gives them power for heavy coal trains, ONR in turn gives back whenever it can spare (or something close). Normally their units are capped in Northern Ontario, here however their newest power is taking an Intermodal out West! ONR 2105 is...
The view you'll see if you're being run over by a train. Shot from public property, obviously it wasn't moving. Looks a bit like a 2300 series ALCO with the short hood, round roof & no dithlights...
