The LAST U-Boat-1

CR 2798, a U23-B, leads westbound tonnage up the east slope of Washington hill at Middlefield, MA. on the old B&A in June, 1979. Barely 2 years old at the time, the 2798 is the last U-Boat, or "Universal" series locomotive built by GE for domestic service before introduction of the "Dash-7" series. Never dreamed that almost 25 years later our paths would cross again and I'd get to know this "old Boat" VERY well!
