Snow Day in Port Huron

Two CN locos wait for permission to enter Tunnel Yard west of Port Huron after a heavy snowstom dumped 12 inches of snow. Six different trains were in the yard waiting to go through the tunnel to Sarnia, Ontario Canada. Snow was 2 to 3 feet deep in the ditches and drifts.

When I took this photo the train crew probably was laughing because I stepped into the ditch and was up past my knees in snow. I should have bought some snow shoes!

snow shoes...what are thoses...just kidding..pic looks great..the big questions is, did you wait for the other trains while standing in knee deep snow...now thats dedication...lol
 
I was not waiting for any more trains... it was around 14 degrees out and the wind was quite nasty. I ran back to my truck when I could... dumb me was not planning on taking train pics... I just grabbed the Nikon Digital "just in case" and wore my sneakers. The milk run to the store had me crossing three tracks there and back so I always take the camera with me. It is nice living by a big rail yard with CN and CSX trains moving through!
