This EMU is JR series 253, manufactured by "The kinki sharyo" and "Tokyu car" since Dec. 1990. N'EX (=Narita EXpress) is composed by 3, 6, 9 or 12 cars. It's rival is "Skyliner" operated by Keisei electric railway.

Therefor, design concept is "Value added space on board", currently green-car (=first class) equips wireless LAN for web. Series 253 got "Good design award" in 1991 and "Laurel prize" in 1992, those are honourable prize in Japan.
