CP 40' box in 2008

Although they won't admit it, CP loves their old 40's, as they're all over MOW service refusing to die! Surely a number of 'newer' 50's are making it onto the MOW circut, but the 40's fleet remains strong.

I really like this one since it looks stock, particularly if you don't notice the newly patched #. No doors/windows or other MOW staples.

It's surrounded by two equally intersting flats, the one to the left is loaded with gravel?, based on your typical flat, not an air dump gondola...
Nice picture. This reminds me that last week in the Port Coquitlam yard, I saw an old grain car (I think) with the CP script writing on it. So CP still does have its older stock still kicking around.

Last week I shot 3 consecutive CP 40' boxcar, all of them had signs of being converted to MOW service, and within the past couple of weks I also shot a couple of old pressure unloading hoppers one of them bearing the script font.

Was that pressure hopper you saw grey with clean crisp white script? I think that might have been the same car I saw last week.

There's also a covered gondola in script, sitting @ Sutherland right now. Been seing it for a while, but always end up chasing some train and don't get its picture.
