US. Army 7348, GE 65T leads the excursion train into Niles. Im glad to say the couple is not posing - they were genuinely interested in the sightseeing brochure, who cares about the approaching train! Only one other person was taking photos aboard on our trip to and from Sunol, good to see so many non-railfans riding the excursion I guess. Wine tasting helps.

With 400 hp the GE needed some help, SP 1423 NW-2E pushing on the other end. The critter leading (appropriate power?) was built in 1942 and spent most of its life in Oakland, before being acquired by the museum in 1994. Its worth noting that the Niles Canyon Railway has two more US. Army engines: FM H-10-44 & GE 80T.
