BC Rail Southbound

Is there any particular reason that the lead engine needs two sets of ditch lights? Just curious.

One set of Ditch lights, one set of "cornering" lights. BC rail has some of the sharpest curves in Canada, the cornering lights are mounted at such an angle as to see around curves. It's interesting that the cornering lights haven't caught on with other Railways.
