Along the Hudson

FL-9RHAC 2042 accelerates northward from Cold Spring, NY. on May 7, 1996. The heavily rebuilt "starships" or "Starwars" FL-9's with their 12/710G3 prime movers and A.C. traction had problems with reliability and were eventually outlived by a handful of their not-so-modified sisters, some of whom are still running today.
For those with a "good photographic eye" who noticed that the 2042 "seems" to be a little shorter than Amtrak 489 in my other pan shot, that's due to "focal plane shutter distortion". With the shot of the 489, the shutter is running in the same direction as the train, with this shot, the train is running against the shutter travel.
