On July 5, 1998, a truck carrying a Talgo car body shell is parked next to Union Pacific's main line at Worden, Oregon, about fifteen miles south of Klamath Falls.

Amtrak today announced that is has taken drastic steps to start the new Talgo service to Las Vegas even though it can't reach an agreement with the operating railroads. ;)

Amtrak's CEO says the move allowed them to cut the track maintenance budget significantly.
