BNSF 4559 with a train of steel coils has been setting at Summit, California for four hours. On this lovely morning last March 9 a ground blizzard has closed Tehachapi Pass to the north while high winds have halted operations across the Mojave Desert between Mojave and Barstow.
Here is my grab shot of KCS 4705 in Tehachapi. I will say I thought these grab shots were going to be the only shots I would get of this train. I was thrilled when a friend of mine who lives near the tracks called me and told me that this train just went past.
