After leaving CN in 2000, this unit is back on home turf! CTRW leassed five (???) of them, finally dispelling their ex-CN M420(W)'s to the HBR along with GP30's and other oddballs on roster.
Despite CN retiring and selling these units left and right, they're perfect for a shortline like...
"Another" ex-UP SD50 comes through town on lease from NREX. Pretty good lash-up too. CP 9022, the third-last "SD40-2" is behind him, one of only two SD40-2'F's in the dual flag sheme; one unit ahead is 5585, one of the oldest SD40-2's still on CP's roster.

CN 4792 leads the daily wayfreight along with a GP38-2.
No, you are not seing double, CN has actually patched itself on the Geep's back, in a slightly smaller font. What a waste of time and resources!
(CN was owned by the government then, hence its our money...)
SD40-2s in Saskatchewan? Thats right. The second unit just happens to be one of thoes old GEC patch jobs to boot! I didn't catch the numbers, but I beleive the second unit is CN 6941.
With the constellation Orion above, and fall colors down below, I set up the tripod for this image of an early morning eastward-moving freight on CSX's route over Sand Patch. The line was constructed by the Baltimore & Ohio in the 19th Century.
