BNSF #8905 West is leading a Centralia Coal train just meeting the eastbound Amtrak Portland Section of the Empire Builder at Cooks siding.. Pasco West told the BNSF #8905 west to highball due to them leading a fleet of trains west behind him that were low on HOS (Hours of Service.) This was...
The Portland Section of the Empire Builder is meeting a BNSF Z-CHCPTL-9 at the Vancouver, Wash. depot on a bright sunny spring day.. BNSF GEVO #7262 is doing the honors for the Z train on it's final 7.5 journey to the intermodal ramp in BNSF's Lake Yard.
Builder info for an old BN Caboose is on the "back 40" of the Camp 18 property in Elsie, OR along Hwy 26. There are many pieces of historic rail equipment at this site. Most are in bad shape.
Amtrak #8 (Eastbound Empire Builder) is running around the M-EVESPO at Scenic, Washington. With a few westbounds of higher priority on the east side of the tunnel, the EVESPO (Manifest, Everett, Wash. to Spokane, Wash.) is going to sit for a while at Scenic while the dispatcher runs trains...
I tried a night shot of the Empire Builder near Sultan Washington on Stevens Pass. I was pleased with shot mainly because any car going down Highway two would have blown the lights out in the background. Instead for a solid five minutes not one car drove bye. Hear are the results.
Amtrak's westbound Empire Builder crosses Nason Creek on its way up to summit-Cascade Tunnel. More railfans who shoot the slot would prefer to climb up the small hill behind me and have the large rock formation in the background. I decided to go with a different view of a train crossing Nason Creek.
Amtrak #10 is the doing the honors of switching out a bad order car after being wyed with the switch crew at Portland's Amtrak Union Station. Looks like it could use a bath from the looks of the dirty front-side..
Here is a single unit which is unusual for the Portland Section of Eastbound Empire Builder passing St. Cloud Road just minutes before meeting a train in the hole at Skamania, Washington.
Amtrak Empire Builder #28 is ready to depart an on-time departure from Portland, Oregon.. #192 is showing some slight dirteness on the nose on either side of the main headlights....
Amtrak #27 is highballing through Mt. Pleasant, Wash. towards it's final destination of Portland, Ore. (This is the 1st time for me shooting at this location.)
