A rail grinder has been in Skykomish for over a week now. There is a new Skykomish railcam on You Tube, I don't have an account to post replies, but you can see the grinder on the railcam. I was talking to the foreman this morning and he told me they are getting it ready to start grinding...

    Columbia Basin Railroad question

I was in Eastern WA last weekend, and I went thru Warden. Does anyone know when the Columbia Basin RR operates? I found out they do not run on weekends. When do they go to Wheeler, or Othello? I assume they go to Connell at night. Here is the power tied up in Warden. -KristopherJ

Does anyone know what this rail line is?

Well cars on the EWG A few weeks ago we were in Eastern Washington traveling along US2. I noticed well cars parked everywhere. I saw them at Almira, Hartline, Cement. Are the bad-orders or just a bunch of excess cars waiting for containers business to pick up? -KristopherJ

BNSF track projects, WA State 2014

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it, I wonder what the south end looks like? Somewhere in this thread, or some other thread, I thought somebody said all new turnouts were to be #24s. That would make the speed 50 for passenger trains. I wonder if it was done this way because eventually...

    Coast Starlight question

Can anyone tell me, the time period of when #11/#14 changed over to Superliner equipment? Was it before 1981? Or was it shortly after? Thank you, Kristopher Johnson

Here is a video of the RM-80-800. After watching it, I now know (or think I do) what the hi-rail backhoe was doing. They were digging out the ballast to get the tool under the track. http://www.plasseramerican.com/en/machines-systems/ballast-bed-cleaning-rm-80-800.html -KristopherJ
