A rail grinder has been in Skykomish for over a week now. There is a new Skykomish railcam on You Tube, I don't have an account to post replies, but you can see the grinder on the railcam.

I was talking to the foreman this morning and he told me they are getting it ready to start grinding Monday night (6-18-2018). They will only grind at night. My guess is they'll start after 1008 goes by. He did not know where, his job was just to get the machine working.

He said get your photos now, this machine will be cut-up for scrap with in 2 years. It will be replaced by a 400 Series machine. This machine can grind at 7 mph, the 400 Series can grind at 20 mph.

A couple of the old grinder heads were on a truck headed out. A lowboy showed up with 2 new ones.
