Waiting for a train that never came

Standing at the Port Alberni train station, almost 50 years after passenger service was discontinued, and 2 years after freight service ended.

If all the services eneded, then what train were you waiting for?

I wasn't waiting for a train, I dorve up to Port Alberni to get some pictures. But the Alberni Pacific runs excursions out of the station to an old sawmill that is now a museum.

The surrounding area grew around the train station. I see that a siding was even added to load/download material or passengers maybe.
