The last of the SOO's

Sadly this is the only non-SD60 SOO that I've seen in action. All the others have been dead units. Curently this beauty is being scrapped.
Nice shot guy! and very interesting that window at side. Is it to protect agaisnt snow?

R
Sort of. Here's what I found from the C-P-R yahoo group. I've seen these on Geep switchers before, but never though they applied to the SD's as well. It is a feature used on switchers or
all units for that matter that spend the majority of their time in
cold winters. The window lets the engineer lean out to see switchmen
without having to open the window to the elements. It is called the bay window or the All Weather window.

i seen alot of soo sd40-2s 6610 6611 6616 6609 6621 before and after it got dipped and then i saw 64XX series SD40A that was living a dream

You're sure lucky. I've seen my first and probably last SOO 66xx, CP 6610 about a month ago. As for a SD40A, I saw 6307 on the deadline, it's here in the gallery.
