Stranger in a Strange Land

Prior to the 2000 election, UTA (Utah Transit Authority) officials ran a special train on the evening of October 17, for local politicos using a Sounder Transit train set. Although the train set no speed records getting from Salt Lake City to Ogden it was good enough. The funding issue on the ballot passed and they are shooting for a start-up date sometime in 2005 for service between Salt Lake City and Ogden. Commuter service along the Wasatch Front will eventually be from Brigham City in the north to Payson at the south end.
