I was done railfanning for the day, when I heard that a Sperry car was only 22 miles from me, so I decided to wait for it. Do to "traffic" it took him nearly two hours to reach Saskatoon. I'm guessing the crew of the last train I saw (542), told Sperry's crew that I was waiting for them, as the crew was very friendly when they saw me. All three waved through the open cab door. It probably helped that I photographed the forman during a hi-rail inspection on the same stretch of track, months earlier. The Sperry car was wyed at the shops and than spent the weekend on the MOW tracks before heading back East. Oddly the incoming crew was offered water, but refused. Taking on water? Isn't it a steam thing? Anyways, it's fitting as this car started out working for LV back in 1940.
