Remember days gone by..

1-27-4 @ 0130 hrs: UP 5112 is tied down for the night at the T&P station platform in downtown Fort Worth. She is pulling an officer's special consist of business cars St. Louis, Cheyenne, and Idaho. The special would leave out by 0630 hrs leaving these shots the only ones I could get. At one time this platform would have had passenger trains parked everywhere but today its rare to get one parked for the night.
Is this the same Station that the Texas Eagle uses too? Great Picture indeed

Yes this was the station the Texas Eagle used before Amtrak. However, the new station is around the corner on the north leg of the interchange. This station is now used for communter traffic and is the terminus for the TRE (Trinity Railway Express). Developers are planning a hotel or condo for the T&P station if they can ever get the funding to come through. The T&P station was a major hub during the war with several floors used as the headquarters for the Army Air Corp training command. It's been sitting vacant since the demise of the passenger train system and has most of the original ammenities still in place.
