Real Green Goat

He's green, non-polluting and a GP9 derivative. Lots of room for batteries and a hybrid set-up in the back. Railpower, are you listening?

This unit, along with GWRX 1040 http://tinyurl.com/2zuxg7 is used to keep three other GP10's running. Even the headlights are gone, never mind bogies, fuel tank and the long hood. Note the suprisingly good shape cab paint is in - still shiny depsite graffiti and rust on the frame.

I wonder when it last ran... Tankers in the backround formed 80-90% of the yard traffic, I've been told that they are being stored there on CN's behalf.

Believe me Elijah, I really wanted to see a working CTRW train (powered by ex-CN GP40-2LW's in stripes and more of those lime green things posted), yet all I saw were two half-dead GP10's at the shops and a bunch of derailed boxcars in the hinterland (I'll post a photo eventually...)

Heck, I'm already planning going there for my next birthday (This trip to Prince Albert was my 20th birthday present, it was postponed for weeks).

Yep, all the M420W's are long gone. They only have CTRW GP10's and ex-CN GP40-2LW's. A railfan I met also told me they have one of only two GP30's in Canada. I've been hearing this rumour for years, but have yet to see evidence.

The GP30 is in the roundhouse, they can't run it because of an electrical problem and it may start on fire. Its in Hudsonbay Railway livery and is very clean.

Thanks for the update - is there a reason its still in PA?

They have no where else to put it, its basicly useless. Note that CTRW is rumored to be leaving pa april 7th, so get your pics while you can.
