After retirement from Santa Fe, the engine was sold to the Texas & New Mexico, then to RailAmerica working for North Carolina & Virginia before being transferred to the Eastern Alabama Railway. You can still see the old NCVA reporting marks being patched over. In service since 1952 the Geep is now in Sutherland, en route to the Prairie West Terminal grain elevator in Plenty, SK, currently the end of track for the old branchline from Moose Jaw to Macklin. Interestingly on the other side of the abandoned trackage across the South Saskatchewan River, an equally old Milwaukee Road GP10 serves as the elevator switcher as Strongfield.
