Build by MLW in 1952 for CN, the engine was sold in 1963 to Manitoba Paper Company, replacing their 2-6-0, who's still displayed at the mill in Pine Falls. Both were numbered #30 incidentally. The MLW was in turn replaced by fellow ex-CN switcher, SW8 7158, who still works at the plant in full CN paint. #30 was sold to Railside locomotive Services in 1999 who in turn leased it to local tourist operation, Prairie Dog Central. In 2005 the engine was sold once again, to Parrish & Heimbecker, now working in the heart of CP's busy Moose Jaw yard, serving an elevator.
