PEI caboose

PEI caboose

Once upon a time this was a RR serviced ferry station that connected with the mainland. Then in the 1980s the RR was pulled up and in the late 90s an impresive 13km bridge was made across the strait that feeds into the Atlantic ocean. You can see the bridge in the backround. In memory of the RR, this caboose, of 1956 CN heritage was left behind. Oddly it doesn't have any CN marks on it, except 'CNR' on the trucks.

Pure speculation on my part, but I belive they didn't want to mention CN on the caboose, since CN was the villan in this case, pulling up trackage, whereas the PEI RR (pre-CN) build it. Therefore they should be honored, even though this is CN's caboose.
