Old-school IMS

Hard to believe, CP still runs unit IMS trains with a set of SD40-2's for power in 2007... Then again this isn't a real 100 series IMS train, just the 500 series "local junk transfer" between Saskatoon and Regina/Moose Jaw. Working at Loblaw I loaded a number of those CPPU containers with empty CHEP pallets.
When power is really short, he uses a set of GP38-2's for power, normally hauling hoppers, with IMS on the back.

Thanks for the ratings guys. Keep in mind that it was taken in pretty low light, 4:35pm in winter Northern SK... Mind you that's exactly what it looked like. The photo-editor emphasized the snow, making the photo almost B&W in terms of color contrast, so I stuck with the original. No editing, including cropping on this one - just as the camera saw it.

I have no idea what "IMS" means, but that shot shows what the real world looks like -- not some brightened and lightened up picture of someone's fantasy. Just looking at that makes me appreciate being in a nice warm, cozy house.
