NS'S Alabama Division AGS North District

NS Northbound Freight Train 340 rumbles through Springville, Al. on its way to Chattanooga, Tn. The 340 comes off of the KCS as M-SHNS ( Shreveport, La. to NS at Meridian, Ms. ) where NS runs the 340 to Irondale, Al. ( Norris Yard ) where it used to terminate, but recently the 340 has been running to Chattanooga, Tn. ( Debutts Yard ) I'm not certain if 340 is running to Chattanooga, Tn. on a permanent or temporary basis. Working for CSXT I know that we sometimes make a move like this if a particular yard can't handle the traffic, so they will start running a train on to another yard to be humped there.
We probably have that same complications in Memphis. Like CN can't handle traffic in Memphis, They ship it to Jackson, Miss, Cairo, Ill. or Paducah, Ky. or BNSF If Tennessee Yards can't handle the traffic there. They'll move it to Birmingham, Ala., St. Louis, Mo. or KC,Mo. to be humped there.

BTW. do they have volunteer jobs at those railroads?
