High atop washington hill in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts on the morning of October 9, 1991, westbound Conrail freight RESE-X trundles across the Hinsdale flats in Hinsdale, MA. over the route of the former Boston & Albany. This is the highest point reached by the railroad at an elevation of 1,450 ft.
