Moving The Wide Cars

The Boeing Switch gets ready to move some 24 ft wide containers. These are used to haul 777 parts from the docks in Everett, WA. A 16 ft wide container is on the left.

How do those "wides" run on track? Is it modefied for them???
 
The tracks from the pier to the bottom of the hill are doule track. There is a special routing that runs the train on certain mains so that it will avoid any obstructions. All other rail traffic must stop while the cars are being moved.
