IDC's Green Kid

IDC Distribution Services Ltd. of Vancouver, B.C. recently purchased a Railpower Hybrid Switching Locomotive - Green Kid. The Green Kid locomotive is used as a switching locomotive to transfer intermodal railcars between the common user storage tracks owned by the Fraser River Port Authority and the ramp tracks located in their Surrey intermodal facility.
The Green Kid runs off small diesel generator set which powers a large battery pack. The traction motors, same as those in traditional diesel switchers, are powered from the batteries. Fuel savings are estimated at 40-60%
Great photo. Could you contact me off-list at pacificoastshay@yahoo.com? I'd like to discuss getting your permission to use this photo on my new Railpower Rosters website. Thanks.
