Great Sandhill B Boats

Its hard shooting hay bales without an ATSF Dash 7 getting in the picture.

Saskatchewans newest shortline, Great Sandhills Railway is currently leasing three former BNSF B23-7s from NRE. CP GP38-2s were used prior, not surprising given that this is an old CP branchline. Back in the steam days the route had more significance, forming a secondary mainline en route to Calgary. Part of the track is still in place at Bassano, AB currently used to store autoracks.
The southwestern area of Saskatchewan has alot of variety B23-7's or M420's on the GWR. This railroad was in this months trains magazine and from the sounds of things this railroad is starting to get more customers on the old CP branch its sure nice to see. Roman where is the power usually when they arent on assignment.

Thanks for the ratings guys!

Cal, don't forget UP & DRGW SD45s stored @ Moose jaw. The power is normally stored in Leader, by the old station? (main HWY crossing). They just came in from Swift Current when I shot them on my return from Calgary/railfanning the RMR/CWR. Another hour and it would be dusk...
