Nice shot. Did you aim to go out on a MOW run, or did you just happen onto them?

Happened onto 'em. Whenever I'm bored and need a train fix I go down to Derry Road on the east side of Hershey, and every time it seems that I see a new angle. This was the first time I'd gotten a welder here, or anywhere for that matter, so it just goes to show you it's all about 'being there'. This morning I was down there and was doing 300mm close-ups of rust patterns on the rails...

Excellent. I've become a tad to sedentary as well, and have been forcing myself trackside lately. Exercise is good.

I like this shot, although I wonder whether the subject would have lent itself better to BW. Being a notorious "close cropper" I reckon I'd also crop a bit off the bottom to remove the bottom rail. The long lens certainly ensures the eye goes staight to the welder.
