Fall Colors in the San Joaquin Valley

This is the best I could come up with. Here in the southern San Joaquin valley fall came very late. We had a long summer and 90 degree tempuratures into November. This is just east of Bakersfield, California. This is the Union Pacifics line through the Tehachapi's. To the right is Tehachapi, to the left is Bakersfield. In the background is a grape orchard and an orange grove. The orange trees are full of oranges. This is fall in California's central valley. This was taken Sunday 11/30/2003.
Beautiful shot! We've only braved the 'hot' weather in April up there. A nicee catch of the SJ Valley. I like the old SP searchlight, but the UP... should be SP!
