Empty rails under full trees

On a glorious Columbus Day 2002, CP's Freight Main between Schenectady and Binghamton, NY, was unfortunately nearly devoid of trains. Just west of Richmondville siding in East Worcester, Brooker Hollow Road passes over the old D&H line on an ancient through truss; normally the featured element in this view, on this day the bridge was overwhelmed by the maple-covered slopes of the poorly-named Pine Mountain which were aflame with the classic reds and deep oranges symbolic of autumn in the Northeast.
