How in the world do you get that kind of a light?
 
The light? This was one of those hazy, partly cloudy summer days so common in the Midwest. This train popped into a hazy sunlit spot just at the right time, with a darker, slightly cloudier background helping make the red engine "pop" out of the frame a bit.

Midwest weather is challenging for photography, to say the least.
