Back in the day CN had a decent GE critter roster 28 units! Including 18 GE 70Ts, all gone by 1983, although most were retired much earlier in the 1960s. I wouldnt be surprised if CN was the last Class I Railroad to operate them, CP never even bothered getting them, although they love GEs now!

After leaving CN, this unit worked for Acadia Coal, Thornton Mines, Hawker Siddeley, Eurocan Pulp & Paper and CBCR&FIM before being donated to the museum in 2003. Got to wonder why he was passed on company to company so often? Even on CN he wore three different #s! For most of his life, from 1956 to 1983 he was #43 (cut down from #1543 prior), then re-numbered #307. The museum is quite biased toward these critters as they have four of them: GE 44T, GE 65T, GE 25T & GE70T shown.

Note that he is chained down!
