Three AMTRAK California trainsets lay over at the shops on Saturday morning. Sister 2007 is alongside on the right. Engines 2012 & 2014 are sitting solo just outside the frame on the right. Note the horn in the middle of the roofline, indicating a cab car. Just before the out of place Superliner.

Notice AMTK 197 P42DC right on 2004s tail! One of two AMTK P42DCs I observed used on AMTRAK California, the other being #205. Its interesting to note that despite being a much bigger locomotive (70ft vs 58.5ft in length) the Genesis visually looks smaller then the F59PHI as it is shorter, while the EMD is just the right height for the bi-levels! Typically one doesnt notice this unless the two units are side by side, it helps that the GE usually has a baggage or other standard size car trailing with the bi-levels following, making the height difference less noticeable.

Freeway 880 is in the background, bordering UP shops and the Oakland Railport, complete with a container ship and the Freeway 80 bridge to San Francisco. You can even make out the Heritage fleet dome behind the FedEx truck!

I spotted 2004 working on 734 two hours later through Richmond. He was on 728 the next day.
