These are automatic ticket examiners in SOTETSU Yokohama station. SOTETSU operates commuter trains (EMU) every 2 minutes in a rush hour for commuter from 7 a.m. thru 8 a.m.

Every EMU (10 cars) discharges about 2900 commuters at Yokohama station. The commuters make use of IC tipped commuter pass or Magnetic striped commuter pass and go out of the station within few minutes.
