Argo Yard / Interlocking

Argo Yard / Interlocking

I was cleaning out the garage and came across some old slide trays. On April 29, 1984 there was a small airshow at Boeing Field in Seattle. I bought a ticket for a helicopter ride, this is one of the photos I took on that short flight.

At the bottom of the photo you can see the interlocking tower. Judging by the fresh ballest on the UP track and the old Milw track, the double-slips have just been removed. I've seen one photo that shows at least 4 double-slips at Argo. Does anyone remember the date when the tower came down?

The 4th Ave bridge appears to be cut-off at both ends. It looks like the south end ramp is being rebuilt.
Interesting on how it's missing both bridge approaches, you could see where the coach wye is and the Nabisco building.
