AMT 90

Located in Saint-Constant, EXPORAIL is Canadas largest railway museum housing 28 steamers, 29 diesels and 3 electrics. Naturally its located along a railway line served by a commuter train. Unfortunately this is AMTs worst served route, with trains only running on weekdays during rush hour. Not surprisingly its the domain of used GO Transit trainsets powered by leased F59s, hauling four cars. No need for double-decker cars due to the low traffic volume.

AMT 85 departs downtown Montreal @ 12:20pm, arriving 29 minutes later at Saint-Constant. 1:20pm the train comes back from Candiac as AMT 90 - last run for the day!
This is the only way to visit the museum by train. The route is somewhat scenic crossing over the St. Lawrence River, as well as by-passing CAD Railway shops and D&H trains running on the line, including the AMTRAK Adirondack.

Take a good look at the unit number - your eyes are not fooling you, it's a five digits. I believe these are the only locomotives in North America with 5 digit numbers - the last three are their former GO IDs. Currently VIA is leasing sister former GO F59s for remote Quebec services out of Montreal.
