I had two days off from work, and since the forecast called for snow as I got off work, I decided to hang out by the tracks and get some snow shots for a change.

Most of Central Kentucky got anywhere between 1-3 inches of snow in southern areas, and 2-4 towards Louisville. This meant the roads weren't too bad and I still got enough snow on the ground for the trains to kick up as they went by.
On Tuesday I got word that the Ringling Brothers / Barnum & Bailey Circus train would be passing through the area. I got just south of Louisville as it left the yard, and I followed the train south for 80 miles. It's not easy keeping up with a train moving at 45-50 when there's road work going on the interstate, but I still managed a few shots.

Today I got out again, to do other non-railfan things, but I always take my camera with me, along with my scanner. I heard Q133 pass with CSX #5000 leading, one of the "Diversity in Motion" units. I followed it south and caught it at Park City, and then went north to catch Q275 at Cave City before coming home.
