I was preparing for a bathroom upgrade and I had to move some stuff off of a shelf. I hadn't really looked in this box for a while. First off it's a cardboard box for a RCA Victrola Phonograph 45. "The Recorded Music that's Sweeping the Country". Inside are the small books and papers from a retired Missouri Pacific Engineer. Al worked steam and diesel for the MOP for many years and retired in the late 80's if I remember right. He also worked the 2 steam locos at the Henry Doorly Zoo here in Omaha. Anyway, there are all the educational books for air brakes, engine manuals and a myriad of training books. Algebra, mechanics and the like. I found, in a small envelope postmarked Jan, 13, 1949 La Grange Ill, a book from EMD about the future of Diesel Locomotives. Here is the cover, the inside page and the forward. I'll scan the rest of it later.
