T1 Trust First Driving Wheel Cast
[/h]The Pennsylvania T1 Trust made history today when it cast the first Boxpok (box spoke) driver the United States has seen in nearly 70 years. Unlike a typical spoked driver, the Boxpok driver is almost entirely hollow. This design promotes a favorable strength to weight ratio and allows the fine tuning necessary for high speed operation. This is perfect for the PRR 4-4-4-4 T1 design.

In this video, you see the first major part of the brand new T1 steam locomotive being cast. It is the #4 driver wheel. The diameter of this wheel measures over 6 feet tall (2m). If you believe in and want to help the T1 Trust consider visiting https://prrt1steamlocomotivetrust.org... to help out.
