I was surprised to see semaphores still in use. Does the SW Chief still go over Raton Pass?

Yes, the Southwest Chief is pretty much the only traffic over Raton Pass now.

I'd sure like to get out there sometime and video trains passing the semaphore signals. I like how you got the signal activating. Too bad there isn't more traffic out there.
 
The semaphores in the video look very wellmaintained. There is probably no incentive to replace them if the line sees little traffic. Did the York Canyon coal mine shut down?
