Left Ruston at 0430 Friday morning bound for Palestine, TX and the Texas State Railroad. Arrived at 0900 and photographed the train at the Palestine Depot. Train departed at 1000 for Rusk, began the return trip back to Palestine at 1230, with the excursion wrapped up by 1400. Power for the day was TSRR 30, 2-8-2. The train moved pretty slowly, taking 1.5hrs to cover 25 miles making it easy to catch it multiple times in either direction. Simple, straightforward, no suprises. It was a good day.
In order: CR399, ID Fairchild State Forst, the Rusk Depot, and the Maydelle Depot.
CR199 S-Curve, Palestine Wye
Looks like a road trip. Great looking loco. Great Pics.
Can't beat a good slow chase. So much more fun than trying to catch mainline steam at track speed.
