SBRHS PRESS RELEASE:

Please note that these trips are Tentative, and still need formal approval from the host railroads.

FALL 2016 EXCURSIONS ANNOUNCEMENT

The SBRHS is pleased to announce that there are currently two excursions in the planning stages for fall 2016. It is important to note that final contract negotiations for these excursions with the host railroads are still in progress, so these events are still tentative. We have been working on both trips for well over a year at this point.

The first excursion is currently planned as a single day, round trip from Los Angeles to Barstow on September 10th via Cajon Pass. Tickets for that trip will be available through Pacific Railroad Society (www.pacificrailroadsociety.org).

The second excursion is also a one day, round trip, but from Los Angeles to San Diego along the Pacific Coast on October 1st. Tickets will be available via the Central Coast Railway Club (www.centralcoastnrhs.com). In addition, space on a number of private cars will be available through a private charter company, Trains & Travel International (www.traintrips.biz).

We are excited at the opportunity to operate 3751 both to San Diego and Barstow, but there are still significant challenges to overcome prior to either trip. Historically the SBRHS prefers to only announce excursions when we are reasonably confident they will operate, however; Trains & Travel International has announced the potential excursion on
their website and we felt all of our supporters should have an opportunity to plan for the possible trips. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work to make both of these events happen.
